She has experience in orthopaedic, cardiorespiratory, neurological, and vestibular physiotherapy including post surgical physiotherapy. She especially enjoyed her time working in the Intensive Care Units where it is so rewarding to see the changes day to day in such a vulnerable population.
Alex enjoys participating in continuing education so she can improve her patient’s physiotherapy care and help them recover quickly. She completed her Acupuncture certification in 2008 through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute, as well as her certification as a Respiratory Educator in 2015 through the Canadian Network for Respiratory Care which has allowed her to provide education and treatment for patients with Asthma and COPD. She has taken several courses in concussion management and vestibular rehabilitation, including certification in Vestibular Assessment and Management through the American Institute of Balance (AIB) since 2017.
Alex went to Haiti after the earthquake in June 2010 with Helping Hands for Haiti. She volunteered as a physiotherapist with other healthcare professionals and still keeps in touch with some of the locals and professionals that she met there. She has a love of jazz and salsa dancing, and enjoys spending time with her pets and drawing children’s portraits.
